Over the last six months, the average loss per player stood at 1,017 euros, translating to about 170 euros monthly. On average, 417,000 players were active monthly, highlighting the sector's widespread appeal and reach. An estimated 676,000 players engaged with legal providers, representing a significant 47% of the adult population. Player Engagement: A Comprehensive Overviewīetween February and July 2023, the gambling market tapped into a considerable segment of the population. A notable trend in this sector was the predominance of casino games against the house, which accounted for a substantial 74% of the GGR over the last twelve months. In the six months leading up to January 2023, the GGR grew by 33%, a robust figure that slightly tapered off to an 8% increase in the following half-year. This remarkable growth, however, showed signs of deceleration. In the period spanning August 2022 to July 2023, the gambling industry witnessed a significant surge in its Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR), reaching a staggering 133 billion euros.
